SLIDESHOW: 10-year-old Dylan Jackson gets to be LMPD Cop for a Day!

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thursday, the entire Louisville Metro Police Department was placed into the hands of a 10-year-old boy.

Not literally, but Dylan Jackson was allowed to be a "Cop for a Day."

Jackson, who wrote an essay earlier this year about his desire to be a police officer, was made an honorary LMPD "Chief."

His day started out by getting to hold a briefing with the "real" LMPD chief, Steve Conrad. He later got to venture out with the LMPD River Patrol, the SWAT team and a K-9 unit. And what would an officer's day be without a trip to McDonald's for a birthday party?
