LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- At least four men are in custody after a shots fired run turned into a chase through Louisville.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday, according to MetroSafe supervisors.

LMPD Spokesperson Alicia Smiley told WDRB officers initially responded to a call of shots fired from a vehicle near 21st and Oak Streets. When officers found the suspected vehicle, it wrecked and four men fled on foot.

One of those men was detained. Smiley said while searching for the others, officers saw a stolen vehicle occupied by four other men.

Police saw a gun inside that vehicle and attempted to box it in when it sped off, hitting an LMPD cruiser, and leading officers on a chase through downtown Louisville and the Highlands.

According to Smiley, officers were able to block the vehicle in the 1100 block of Preston Street, near East St. Catherine in the Shelby Park neighborhood.

Four males were taken into custody, three juveniles and one adult. Smiley said they face numerous charges including receiving stolen property, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun.

Smiley also said the suspect vehicle sideswiped two civilian vehicles near Eastern Parkway during the pursuit.

No other details on the shooting, or the suspects involved in the shooting, were immediately available.

It is not yet clear if the shooting and the pursuit were related.

No one was injured in either incident
