LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Lawrenceburg man is in jail after police say he violated a court order and sent a 17-year-old girl sexual messages.
According to Kentucky State Police, 38-year-old Rodney Owens had been ordered not to contact the girl, when he sent her a sexually charged e-mail message on Jan. 30.
The message read: "I am sorry for every thing that I had done," according to police. It went on to say, "I saw a sexy nighte [sic] at walmart I would love to see your sexy gorgeous body in it."
Police say they saw the message on the teen's phone and traced it to an e-mail address belonging to Owens.
Police arrested Owens just before 10:30 p.m. According to the arrest report, Owens told police he had been in bed that evening and denied sending the e-mail.
Owens was arrested and charged with violating a Kentucky EPO or DVO, harassing communications and engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor.
He is currently being held in the Shelby County Detention Center.
