Jury acquits man charged with murdering 19-year-old in Beechmont neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man charged with killing another man during an alleged drug deal in the Beechmont neighborhood nearly two years ago has been found not guilty of murder and attempted murder.

Quennel Young was 25 years old when he was charged with killing 19-year-old Zackery Napper in the 4900 block of South Third Street near Terry Avenue in August of 2016.

A woman who was with Napper was also shot but survived. 

According to court documents and police interviews with the second shooting victim, Napper was scheduled to testify against another alleged drug dealer before he was killed.

A jury acquitted Young of all charges on April 17, 2018.
