LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As competition moves in across the city, Louisville's largest hotel is set to get $80 million in renovations.

The Galt House revealed what the revamp will look like Thursday.

Every room will be updated, some of the restaurants inside will expand, and the hotel also formed a branding partnership with the Wyndham Hotel Group, becoming part of its "trademark collection."

Still, the Galt House will remain independently operated.

"This is an announcement that is extraordinarily important to Louisville ... as the Galt House obviously has always been here on the waterfront," Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said. "It's an important part of the skyline of our city, and it's an important part, I would say, of our collective memories."

Work is slated to start this summer in the west tower and be done by 2020.
