LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – For the second straight day, the Louisville Cardinals could not hold on to a lead against the Virginia Cavs.

Leading one to nothing in the ninth, the Cardinals gave up two runs before going on to lose 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Virginia’s Alex Tappen provided the game tying RBI with a two out single. Later, the Cavs took the lead on a RBI single from Brendan Rivoli.

Virginia took the three game series, two games to one. 

Louisville is back in action Tuesday against Western Kentucky
