LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was killed in a crash in the southbound lanes on the Kennedy Bridge early Monday.

It happened just before 9 a.m. on April 23 at the 136.8 mile marker on the Kennedy Bridge. LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell confirms at least one person was killed in the crash.

Monday night, the coroner identified the woman as 21-year-old Lillian Bouch of New Albany. She died of multiple blunt force injuries from the crash.

According to Mitchell, preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Jeep Wrangler was on Interstate 65 on the Kennedy Bridge when Bouch apparently failed to notice that traffic had stopped.

That's when she crashed into the back of a stopped tractor-trailer.

Bouch was pronounced dead at the scene.

All lanes were closed until around 11:15 a.m. while crews cleared the scene.

The LMPD Traffic Unit took part in the investigation.
