LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- City leaders got an up close look at a new library being built in the city's east end Tuesday.
The 40,000 square foot Northeast Regional Library is under construction on Bellevoir Circle near Whipps Mill Road.
Mayor Greg Fischer and other city leaders took a hardhat tour Tuesday morning.
The new library will feature a production studio, demonstration kitchen, and a health and wellness porch for yoga.
Once it's complete, the library director says people will be impressed.
"I think there's a general sense of excitement, enthusiasm, and not wanting to wait for this to open," said library director Jim Blanton. "Everyone is very excited for this to come online."
The new library is scheduled to open in the spring of 2019.
