Basketball coach accused of raping girl on his team is 'well-known' for starting Kentucky Future Basketball
Police say a Radcliff basketball coach raped and sodomized a 14-year-old girl who was on his team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a Radcliff basketball coach raped and sodomized a 14-year-old girl who was on his team.
41-year-old Corvell Conley started and runs an AAU team for 7th and 8th graders girls called Kentucky Future Basketball.
Parents of players in the Radcliff community tell WDRB Conley is a well-known coach in the area.
According to an arrest report, the teen met with Radcliff Police on Wednesday and told officers that Conley was driving her home from practice when he stopped at a location on South Wilson Road and engaged in sexual intercourse with her in the back seat of the vehicle.
A sexual assault examination identified evidence that the teen had recently engaged in sexual intercourse -- and her injuries were consistent with her account of the events, the arrest report states.
WDRB reached out to leaders of the Kentucky Future Basketball program, who declined a request for comment.
Conley is due in court next Friday, May 4, at 9 a.m.
