Second major restaurant closes on the Jeffersonville waterfront
Employees found doors locked, when they reported to work on Monday.
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- A second major restaurant on the Jeffersonville waterfront has closed its doors.
Rocky's Sub Pub and Italian Grill abruptly closed, and the doors were locked, when employees reported to work on Monday. A sign on the door explains that the restaurant is permanently closed.
"After 42 years serving Southern Indiana and Louisville, we regret to inform you that Rock's Sub Pub in Jeffersonville has closed. We would like to thank our loyal guests for their years of patronage and our amazing employees who helped build and run Rocky's for over four decades."
The sign continues, "We are working closely with our staff to help them secure positions at other area restaurants and are actively exploring opportunities for other uses of the property. Thank you. Sincerely, Team Rocky's."
This is the second restaurant to close on the waterfront in recent weeks. The Bristol Bar and Grill closed its location inside the Sheraton Hotel in March just weeks before Thunder Over Louisville.
Rocky's has been a fixture on the Ohio River for big events. The original location opened on Market Street in Jeffersonville in 1977.
