LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two dogs were rescued from a house fire in Valley Station Tuesday morning.

The fire took place at a home near the intersection of Dixie Highway and Fincastle Trail, at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Crews got control of the fire moments after they arrived. Two dogs were pulled from the home. Images shared from the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District's Facebook page show firefighters administering oxygen to one of the dogs -- a puppy.

A spokesperson for the department says one of the two dogs seemed to be having difficulty breathing. Firefighters took it to Dixie Animal Hospital. The hospital opted to keep the dog overnight for observation, but both animals are expected to be fine.
