LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Since March, crews have been working on the $6.5 million renovation project at the Kentucky Derby Museum.
Plans call for adding more than 11,000 square feet of new space, and renovating an existing 5,000 square feet.
There will also be a third floor added to the museum, and a new area for outdoor parties and events will also be added.
The museum, which hosted 230,000 guests in 2017, has remained open during construction.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November in time for the 2018 Breeders' Cup.
