Several inmates at Bullitt County Jail diagnosed with hepatitis A
The hepatitis A outbreak has hit the Bullitt County Jail.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Several inmates at the Bullitt County Jail have been diagnosed with hepatitis A.
The jailer says there have been about four or five confirmed cases of hep A.
She says the jail is following protocol -- which includes giving shots to those the Health Department deems necessary.
Health officials are urging people to get vaccinated, and to wash their hands after using the restroom, changing diapers, and before preparing food.
Three people have died in Kentucky from the hepatitis A outbreak.
