LIVONIA, Ind. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana man was killed in a car crash early Thursday in Washington County. 

The crash happened just before 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 56 and State Road 337 in Livonia.  

In a release, Washington County Sheriff Roger Newlon said 43-year-old Bret Freed of Orleans was killed.  

Officers believe he was driving his 2012 Toyota Corolla southbound on State Road 337, when he failed to stop at the intersection with State Road 56 West. His car was hit in the side by a semi truck. The driver of the truck was not injured. 

The crash remains under investigation.
