Nearly 1,000 vehicles washed in Louisville and Jeffersonville to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The warm, sunny weather made Saturday a perfect day to head outside and get those cars washed for a great cause.
Mike's Carwash in Louisville and Jeffersonville teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana for their ninth annual "Wash For A Cause." Half of the proceeds collected benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters to match up children with an adult for mentoring programs.
"This money, specifically here in Jeffersonville, will stay in Clark and Floyd Counties as one entity, and those will support current matches as well as offer opportunities for us to make new matches in the area," said Allyson Glass with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.
Official fundraising totals will not be in until Monday, but officials said nearly 1,000 vehicles were washed during the six-hour event.
