LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- This summer, Waterfront Park will be ground zero for a number of rides, events and attractions.

New this year will be jet boat rides on the Scream Machine (30-minute tours of the Ohio for $30), and kayak excursions by Louisville Kayak Company.

"If you want a relaxing ride on a historic steamboat, you'll want to get tickets for the Belle of Louisville cruise," said David Karem, president of Waterfront Development Corporation, in a statement. "If you want your heart to beat a little faster, try the Scream Machine."

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer was joined by several city leaders at the Brown-Forman Amphitheater Thursday afternoon to highlight the upcoming events.

The following is a list of events currently scheduled for Waterfront Park:

May 2018

June 2018

July 2018

August 2018

September 2018

October 2018

November 2018

December 2018

"Waterfront Park is Louisville's front yard, the sight that millions of drivers see when they enter our city," Mayor Fischer said, in a statement. "It's part of the reason that our city has become such a popular tourist destination. And I expect these new opportunities for fun will only build on that momentum."
