LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville baseball team will travel to Lubbock, Texas, to face No. 3 seed Kent State as the No. 2 seed in the Texas Tech Regional in the NCAA baseball tournament.
Texas Tech will face New Mexico State in the other half of the regional, to be played Friday at 2 p.m. Louisville and Kent State will play at 7 p.m.
It marks the first time Louisville hasn't played host to a regional in five seasons.
"We feel like we've been playing tournament baseball for the past month," Louisville coach Dan McDonnell said. "We got into postseason mode and we needed to, we needed to play well down the stretch. I told the guys that prepared us, knowing what we need to do to play good in an NCAA regional."
Indiana's baseball team also is headed to Texas, as the No. 2 seed in the Austin Regional, where it will face Texas A&M. Host Texas and Texas Southern await in the other half of the bracket.
