ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some spent this Memorial Day visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Elizabethtown.

The wall was recently dedicated and this is the first Memorial Day since it's been open.

It's a near replica of the original wall, and is 80 percent of the scale of the memorial in Washington, D.C. More than 58,000 names are listed.

Tim Hastings even drove across the country from California to see both walls. His brother is listed as missing in action. "We made the run from the wall from Ontario, California to Washington D.C. It's a 10 day ride on motorcycles, and we visited the wall there," he said.

Vietnam veteran Manny Wexler said, "We decided to come down here today to pay homage to people I knew who didn't come home."

It's the biggest permanent Vietnam War memorial wall outside of the capital.
