Visitation being held Tuesday for LMPD officer who died from cancer
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Visitation is being held Tuesday for a Louisville Metro Police officer who died from cancer.
Officer Steve Wise died on Friday after a two-year battle with cancer.
Police say Wise had a wicked sense of humor and referred to himself as "Chemo-sabee." He continued to work on the days he could.
LMPD posted the following on the department's official Facebook page on Monday morning:
His visitation runs from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bosse Funeral Home, located at 1355 Ellison Avenue.
Wise's funeral will be held at Audubon Park Baptist Church, located at 1046 Hess Lane, at noon on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, Wise's family is asking for donations to be made in his name to the Louisville Metro Police Foundation's Officer Distress Fund.
