POLICE: Louisville man arrested after gunshots fired from car
The suspect is charged with first-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man after authorities say gunshots were fired from a car.
Shawn Watts, 23, was arrested Tuesday.
A LMPD spokesperson tells WDRB the shooting also took place on Tuesday. It happened in the 2600 block of Greenwood Avenue, near South 26th Street. One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the gunfire, according to police.
According to a police report, Watts was stopped while driving a car authorities say fit the description of one that had left the scene of a shooting.
Officials say an unidentified man ran from the vehicle during the traffic stop.
Investigators say Watts gave a recorded statement that another man fired the shots.
Video evidence showed that Watts "was a willing participant in the shooting," according to police. Watts admitted he drove himself and the shooter to the scene, and that he witnessed the man fire the shots, police say.
Watts is charged with first-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment.
He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $100,000 cash bond.
