LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A University of Louisville football defense already filling some major holes has turned loose of two more players.

Coach Bobby Petrino announced on Wednesday that linebacker Isaac Stewart and redshirt defensive back Lyn Strange have been given their release from the program. No reason was given.

Stewart played in 11 games for Louisville last season and started two – against Boston College and Florida State. He had a career-high 10 tackles in Louisville’s win over the Seminoles and had 26 on the season, including two for loss. A redshirt senior, he had started 37 games overall for Louisville.

Strange redshirted last season.
