LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- MSD says a cave-in has caused a section of East Liberty Street to close down.

The street is shut down between East Chestnut and Baxter Avenue.

The cave-in was caused by a break in a 30-inch brick sewer line. MSD says a call was received early Saturday morning about a hole in the center lane of the street.

MSD inspectors found a void that is about 10 feet deep, 15 feet long and 10 feet wide. The area is secure and crews are at the beginning stages of repairing the roadway.

MSD officials say the road is expected to remain closed through Friday, June 8. Sidewalks in the area will remain open
