LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Motorcycles helped draw attention to the issue of domestic violence in Louisville this weekend.

Saturday, the Last Days Motorcycle Ministry and Angels at Work held a 116-mile ride through Kentucky to benefit the Center for Women and Families.

Linda Young said she organized the event to honor her daughter and grandson, who were murdered 13 years ago in an act of domestic violence.

Since then, Young has put together concerts, chili cook-offs and motorcycle rides to raise awareness about those who need help, before it's too late.

"If we teach young women what to look for, they can get out before they get hurt," Young said. "That is the whole purpose of this today."

It was the first time the group has held a motorcycle ride. Young said she hopes to organize a similar fundraising event next year.
