Second Chances Wildlife Center opens doors for annual Wildlife Baby Shower
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A special baby shower of a different kind was held Sunday in Mount Washington.
Second Chances Wildlife Center opened their doors for their annual Wildlife Baby Shower.
It's one of the few times the public is invited to see some of the animals being cared fore before they are released back into the wild.
Guests could interact with baby raccoons, opossums and skunks. The center says events like this are important fundraisers, and a great way to educate the public.
"Since we are a small-sized charity, it is difficult to continue our efforts in the rehabilitation process," Second Chances Founder Brigette Brouillard said. "Most people don't realize what a costly endeavor this is, so the funding we make today goes directly back to our animal care ... essentially today is a fun event that saves lives."
As if the adorable wildlife wasn't enough, there were even some nature-themed interactive games for children.
