LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sunday marked seven years since the disappearance of Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.

Spierer went missing on June 3, 2011, after a night out with friends.

Over the weekend, Spierer's family posted a message on a Facebook page dedicated to updates concerning the case. They called Lauren's disappearance the most heart-wrenching experience of their lives.

Spierer's parents filed a lawsuit against two men who were with her the night she disappeared, but the suit was thrown out when a federal judge ruled her parents did not provide evidence the two men had anything to do with her disappearance.

Since Spierer disappeared, police have investigated thousands of leads.

Police are still actively searching for Spierer. Anyone with information her location is asked to contact the Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477 or via email at policetips@bloomington.in.gov.
