LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- In one month, fireworks will be lighting up Waterfront Park.

The city of Louisville announced the details for this year's Waterfront Fourth of July celebration. The event will feature free musical entertainment, family activities, food, an American Flag display and fireworks launched from a barge on the Ohio River.

"One of the biggest days of the year on Waterfront Park is the Fourth of July," Mayor Greg Fischer said. "This is our front yard to the city. and when you think about what used to be here with the junk yards and scrap yards and what people used to look at compared to this globally award winning park that we have right now. it really shows you what can happen with great vision."

Musical acts include the Pimps of Joytime, Carly Johnson and the Spinsters Union of Louisville. Activities start at 5 p.m. and conclude with the fireworks show at 10 p.m.
