JCPS to host 2 career fairs this month
The district is hiring for several positions.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools will host two career fairs during the month of June.
The first job fair will happen Friday, June 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Maupin Elementary School, which is located at 1312 Catalpa St.
Applications will be accepted for the following positions:
- Full-time teachers
- Substitute teachers
- Classroom assistants
- Cafeteria workers
- Clerical Staff
The second job fair, scheduled for Wednesday, June 13, is specifically aimed at filling bus driver positions. It will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at the C.B. Young Jr. Service Center, located at 3001 Crittenden Drive.
The starting rate for full-time bus drivers is $20.65 per hour. Bus drivers are also eligible for a number of benefits and incentives. Applicants are not required to have any previous experience, but should have a good driving record.
People interested in applying to become bus drivers must meet the following requirements and bring the following items:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Bring I-9 identification (birth certificate or social security card)
- Bring GED, high school diploma or college transcripts (official)
- Bring voided check for direct deposit
- $20 cash or check for background check
Starting pay for full-time bus drivers is $20.65 an hour and drivers are eligible for a variety of benefits and incentives. No previous experience is required, but individuals should enjoy working with children and have a good driving record.
