LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A young boy traveling the country to say "thank you" to police officers stopped in Kentucky Thursday.

Ten-year-old Tyler Carach from Florida started a project in 2016 called "I Donut need a reason to thank a cop."

His mission is to thank every police officer across the country for what they do to keep people safe.

"It makes me happy to know that they're happy," Tyler said.

Tyler's mom, Sheena Carach, is proud to support her son's efforts.

"They never go to work hoping to be thanked," Sheena said. "They put those uniforms, those badges, on every day. And it's the most selfless job. They go to work knowing there's a risk they might not come home."

Tyler got to drive a virtual reality car while he visited with LMPD officers.

LMPD officers posted on Facebook after Tyler's visit:

Kentucky is the 31st state Tyler has visited. So far he has given out over 65,000 donuts.
