BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Western Kentucky University's mascot Big Red is taking on a look-a-like for round two in Italian court.

ESPN reports that in 2003, WKU sued an Italian Media company, as well as the creator of a similar-looking character named Gabibbo, for $250 million.

The school did not win the case, but Big Red's creator Ralph Carey took further legal action. In his lawsuit, Carey says the creator of Gabibbo admitted to taking the idea from the university in a newspaper article.

Italy's highest court this week ruled that the merits of lawsuit stand. That means the case is going back to the Milan Court of Appeals.
