Indiana sheriff's deputy injured in crash while responding to drug overdose
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Indiana sheriff's deputy lost control of his cruiser and slammed into a tree, all while responding to a drug overdose call.
It happened Friday around 11 p.m. in Scott County, Indiana.
Photos posted on the Scott County Sheriff's Department's Facebook page show the cruiser crashed into a tree and was heavily damaged.
The sheriff's office says the deputy who was driving was injured, and an officer training with him was also hurt in the crash.
They're both expected to recover, but the sheriff's office says it's "deeply concerned" with the amount of overdose calls deputies go to on a daily basis.
