Police say Louisville woman committed DUI, hit 3 people
Officials say the suspect was not able to complete a standard field sobriety test.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman was arrested after authorities say she hit an adult and two children while driving under the influence of alcohol.
Veronica Blanton, 49, was arrested Friday on South 3rd Street.
According to an arrest report, Blanton was driving a vehicle when she hit the three victims as they were crossing the street. Police say they were not using the cross walk when they were hit.
Authorities say Blanton stated she had drank four beers. She also had a "strong odor" of alcohol on her breath, according to police.
Officials say Blanton was not able to complete a standard field sobriety test.
The three victims were taken to the hospital with injuries that included road rash, bumps, bruises and pain to the head and neck.
Blanton is charged with DUI and assault.
She is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections. Her next court date is set for June 19.
