CRITTENDEN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a two-year-old child officials say was found inside a car.

According to a news release, on Saturday around 6 p.m., KSP troopers were called to a home in Dry Ridge, which is located in Grant County. The troopers were dispatched to a call on an unresponsive child, who was found inside a Mercury Grand Marquis.

The child was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
