Family-owned Willett Distillery names new President
The announcement came Thursday morning at the Frazier History Museum.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There's a new person in at the helm of a Bardstown, Kentucky-based distillery.
Britt Kulsveen has been named the President and Chief Whiskey Officer of Willett Distillery by her mother, Martha Willett Kulsveen. The announcement came Thursday morning at the Frazier History Museum.
Britt Kulsveen is the great-granddaughter of founder A. Lambert Willett. She also succeeds her mother as president.
“I would say my immediate reaction is gratitude and pride and I hope to carry on the family name," the new president said Thursday morning. "It’s something that means so much to me. It’s something that has been built through many sacrifices and sweat and many, many years. And I hope to carry that on and continue our legacy. I hope my grandfather would be very proud of me today."
Britt Kulsveen added that the company's culture is just as important as the whiskey it pours.
"I hope to carry on the tradition of southern hospitality and kindness," she said. My big thing also is, everybody needs adult time out and some time on the porch with cocktails, and I hope that everybody can just…give time for that.”
Willett Distillery is a family owned and operated distillery in Bardstown. It was founded in 1936.
