LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Scott Russ has identified a 66-year-old man found shot and killed in a southwest Louisville park.

Joseph Wyatt of Mt. Washington was found in the 7400 block of Moorman Lane at the end of a gravel road, not far from the Louisville Loop Trail around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, near the Farnsley-Moreman Landing Park.

Investigators say two people riding motorcycles discovered the victim.

Police had been unable to determine the victim's identity, releasing his description and asking for the public's help.

"I was wondering why and how it happened here. This is a nice place," said Jonathan Hodges, the groundskeeper who lives on site.

Hodges tells WDRB he didn't see anything out of the ordinary on the day the body was discovered.

Police say they are particularly interested in anyone who was in the park on June 14 and may have seen someone matching the victim's description or anything out of the ordinary.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD tipline at 574-LMPD (574-5673). Callers can remain anonymous.
