LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With the help of an LMPD K9, more than a dozen pounds of crystal meth was taken off the streets.

During a traffic stop around Preston and Indian Trail Thursday, officers found more than 16 pounds of suspected crystal meth.

LMPD says the drugs have a street value of more than $100,000.

Two people were taken into custody.

"The amount of medical emergencies through potential overdoses, assaults, thefts and maybe murders that was prevented by taking this crap off our streets is immeasurable," LMPD said on their Facebook page.
