Man shot to death inside California neighborhood home identified
The call came in just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials identified the man found shot to dead inside a home in the California neighborhood.
The coroner said 26-year-old Darryl Turpin Jr. was found inside the home near the intersection of South 22nd Street and Grand Avenue, near Dr. W J Hodge Street.
Officers were dispatched to the home just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday,
Police say there were a handful of people inside the home at the time.
The shooting was just steps away from where 18-year-old Chatariona Harrison was shot and killed in February. Balloons from the memorial remain more than four months later as a reminder of the life lost.
Lt. Emily McKinley, head of the Louisville Metro Police Homicide Unit, said officers are canvassing the area and are looking for anyone with information.
There have been no arrests, and police did not name any suspects.
