Ohio cop fired for using badge to intimidate daughter and her boyfriend
Investigators say the officer didn't realize his daughter in the car, when he pulled her boyfriend over.
LORAIN, Ohio (WDRB) -- An Ohio police officer has been fired for using his badge to intimidate his daughter and her boyfriend.
Dashcam video shows Officer John Kovach pulling the boyfriend over last month in Lorain, which is near Cleveland.
Kovach told him he was going to jail -- without giving a reason -- and had him get in the patrol car. Investigators say Kovach didn't originally realize his daughter was also a passenger in the backseat.
When he realizes his daughter is in the car, he orders her out of the car too.
Police also say dispatchers tried to send Kovach to a road rage incident during the traffic stop-- but he never responded.
