Third arrest made in connection with May homicide in south Louisville
Police arrested 18-year-old Jaquan McWilliams Saturday and charged him with murder and robbery in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Anthony Edwards.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A third suspect has been arrested after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed in south Louisville.
18-year-old Jaquan McWilliams was arrested Saturday and charged with murder and first degree robbery in connection with the May homicide of Anthony Edwards.
Edwards was shot and killed in the 400 block of M Street near South 4th Street and Winkler Avenue on May 22.
An arrest report for McWilliams states independent investigation identified him as being present at the time of the murder.
Two other suspects have already been arrested and charged in connection with Edwards' murder.
18-year-old Glendale Hall Jr. was arrested on June 11 in the 400 block of M Street and charged with complicity to commit murder and robbery. Police say he was at the scene when Edwards was shot and killed.
An arrest report for Hall states he admitted to his part in the crime, and knew Edwards was going to be robbed the night of the murder.
A second suspect, 18-year-old Decoria Curry, was arrested on June 14 and also charged with complicity to commit murder and robbery in connection with the homicide.
Curry was arrested after investigators had determined he also knew Edwards was going to be robbed and was present when he was killed.
McWilliams was identified by co-defendants in the case as being part of planning a robbery, according to his arrest report.
All three suspects are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections. Hall is being held on a $100,000 cash bond while Curry is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
McWilliams is expected to appear in arraignment court Monday morning. Hall and Curry are also expected in court Monday morning for preliminary hearings.
