Scottsburg police officer injured while assisting disabled vehicle
The officer was hit by a vehicle while assisting a disabled bus on an off ramp near I-65.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Scottsburg police officer is recovering after being hit by a vehicle Saturday morning.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Lieutenant Mike Nichols with the Scottsburg Police Department, who was injured in the line of duty this morning while assisting with a stranded motorist," the Scott County Sheriff's Office said in a post to their Facebook page.
It happened on an off ramp near the I-65 and Highway 56 interchange. Nichols was hit by a vehicle while he was assisting a bus that was disabled.
The extent of his injuries is unclear at this time.
