Police arrest southern Indiana man accused of child solicitation
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police say a North Vernon man was arrested on charges related to child solicitation.
According to a news release, 45-year-old Christopher Blackburn was arrested last week on charges of child solicitation, attempted vicarious sexual gratification and attempted possession of child pornography.
Police say an investigation began in March of this year, when police were contacted with a claim that Blackburn allegedly had "improper communication with a 15-year-old female."
Authorities say over the course of an investigation, it was found that Blackburn contacted the teen in February of this year through Snapchat. Investigators say Blackburn sent the girl "a sexually suggestive music video and then requested the juvenile send him inappropriate pictures."
Once the investigation was completed, the case was handed over to the Jennings County Prosecutor's Office for review.
A warrant was then issued for Blackburn's arrest.
Police say he was taken into custody last week.
He was released on bond on June 22, according to officials.
