LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A child finds a gun in a couch at an Indiana IKEA store and pulls the trigger.

The child fired a single shot but no one was hurt.

According to police, a customer was testing out the couch at the store in Fishers, just north of Indianapolis, when the gun dropped onto the couch without the customer realizing it.

The child later found the gun in the cushions.

Prosecutors will make the call whether to press criminal charges.

"It's very important that if you are going to carry a firearm on you that you do make sure you're under control at all times. It's part of gun ownership, responsible gun ownership," Fishers Police Sgt. Tom Weger said.

Indiana is among the worst states when it comes to kids accidentally getting a hold of guns.

According to a 2016 report, Indiana ranked seventh in the country for accidental shootings involving children.
