LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local Denny's restaurant has reopened several weeks after an SUV crashed through the wall and injured several people.

It happened on Tuesday, May 8, at about 11:30 p.m. at the Denny's on Eastern Parkway, near Crittenden Drive, by the University of Louisville campus.

Police say an SUV made it about 10 feet inside the building, hitting several people inside. The driver of the SUV and nine other people inside the restaurant were rushed to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. All of the injured parties were expected to recover.

According to Jilliam Hutwagner, a spokeswoman for the restaurant, Denny's officially reopened Monday afternoon, several weeks after the crash.

"After undergoing extensive renovations to the exterior and interior of the restaurant, the team is thrilled to welcome guests throughout Louisville back to its booths to enjoy a delicious meal, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year," Hutwagner said, in a statement.
