LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Road work on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 right after the Sherman Minton Bridge is causing a mess for drivers in southern Indiana headed to Louisville.

During Wednesday morning's rush hour, traffic was backed up as far as US 150, and things were also moving slowly on I-265 to get on I-64. Some WDRB staff members were caught in the mess.

Only one lane of I-64E is open after drivers cross the Sherman Minton Bridge while crews work to make concrete repairs to the center and right lanes.

Drivers had to deal with emergency lane closures during the afternoon rush on June 15, as crews worked to repair two large holes.

The lanes are expected to be closed until 5 a.m. on June 28.

Drivers can still use the ramp to get on the Shawnee Expressway.
