LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was a hot concert, held on an even hotter day.

Taylor Swift took the stage at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Saturday night as fans braved the over 100 degree heat index.

“We’re staying cool because we have this lovely pool right here that we filled with ice to make sure at least our feet are cold,” said Trisha Poynter, who was tailgating outside the stadium with friends.

Another group of friends were attending their 20th Taylor Swift concert.

“We’re kind of obsessed,” Candace Clark said.

Crowds of people walked in the scorching sun to Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium.

Some Swifties and their parents were taking a break inside one of the cooling buses parked outside of the gates.

It was part of the stadium’s plan, along with extra water and ice, to deal with extreme heat.
