Man accused of robbing Campbellsville consignment store, trying to rape clerk
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man has been arrested after police say he not only robbed a consignment store in Taylor County, but he also tried to rape a clerk in the process.
According to a news release from Campbellsville Police, the incident took place on Saturday, June 30, at the Trend Setters consignment store at 109 Nancy Cox Drive, just off the Campbellsville Bypass.
Police say 50-year-old Michael H. Adams held a clerk there at gunpoint and tried to rape her before taking money and driving away.
A witness was able to give police the license plate number on Adams' car, so police were able to identify Adams and arrest him a short time later.
He is currently being held in the Taylor County Detention Center on charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree attempted rape.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment for injuries she sustained during the incident.
