A haynado? Yep! It's just like a dust devil, but instead of picking up dust, this one picked up hay! This video comes out of Oregon showing a truck driving toward the rotation. 


A dust devil (or haynado like this one) is different than a tornado. You can clearly see this was not caused by a thunderstorm; tornadoes are.  This phenomenon is caused by a temperature gradient.  The air doesn't like when things are different, so it's trying to even out that temperature difference. It does that through wind, and that is what you see happening in this video.
