2018 Madison Regatta takes off this weekend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The 2018 Madison Regatta will take to the Ohio River this weekend.
Boats from the H-1 Unlimited and Hydroplane series will race across the Ohio.
Madison Regatta President Matt True stopped by WDRB In The Morning to explain what race fans can expect.
Races start Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at Bicentennial Park in Madison, Indiana.
Qualifying races for the 2018 Midwest Tube Mills Indiana Governor’s Cup will start Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
Racing continues Sunday at 11 a.m.
The 68th annual running of the Indiana Governor's Cup is set for 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
The local favorite to win this year’s Indiana Governor’s Cup race is Jimmy Shane from Maple Valley, Washington.
His boat is the U-1 Miss Homestreet, which is owned by the citizens of Madison, Indiana.
Tickets for all of the events this weekend are $35, tickets for just the races are $20.
Tickets can be bought at the gates of at the Madison Regatta Office this week.
