Elizabethtown man accused of trying to murder live-in girlfriend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Elizabethtown man was arrested Wednesday after police say he tried to kill his live-in girlfriend.
According to an arrest report, the series of events began on Monday at a home on Woodland Drive in Elizabethtown.
Police say 29-year-old Tyler Lybeck got into a fight with his live-in girlfriend at his home. During the fight, he allegedly pushed her to the bed and pulled her hair, telling her that, "Today will be the day you die." Police say he then proceeded to choke her.
At some point during the scuffle, police say the woman was able to break away from Lybeck and get away.
On Wednesday, July 4, the woman came back to the home to retrieve her belongings. Police say Lybeck started pushing her around and beating her in the head. According to the arrest report, he again began choking her, telling her he was going to kill her.
Police say the woman was again able to break away and run.
Lybeck was arrested by Elizabethtown Police a short time later. He is charged with attempted murder. He is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
