TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WDRB) -- A 4-year-old girl in Michigan is warming hearts with her first steps.

Maya Tinsdale has cerebral palsy. She had a major spinal procedure in May. The little girl had been working hard to learn to walk without a walker or stroller to keep her balance.

Doctors said she'd be able to walk in about six months. But two-months later, Maya took her first steps. She raised her clinched fists and proclaimed "I'm walking!"

Her sweet victory was captured on video and posted to her "Mighty Miss Maya" Facebook and Instagram pages.

The caption reads in part, "We are beyond proud of our Mighty Girl."
