LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say they have arrested a man several months after he allegedly beat a woman in the head with a blunt object and stole her money.

According to court documents, the incident took place at a location within Jefferson County.

Police say 24-year-old Tyler Wilson came to the victim's home with a person the victim knew. When the victim opened the door, Wilson came in behind her and hit the victim with a "tire tool" in the head and arms.

Police say Wilson then stole $300 from the woman's coffee table and ran away.

The victim sustained an orbital fracture -- a fracture of the bone around her eye -- and had to have reconstructive surgery.

She was later able to identify Wilson from a series of photos, according to police.

Wilson was arrested on Friday and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree robbery. He is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
